Responsible for ensuring compliance with Australian AML/CTF regulations, this role includes developing and maintaining AML/CTF policies, conducting risk assessments, monitoring transactions, and reporting suspicious activities. The officer provides staff training, supports audits, liaises with regulatory authorities, and advises management on compliance risks.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Australian Financial Crime obligations, including AML/CTF regulations.
- Develop, implement, and update AML/CTF policies and procedures.
- Conduct AML risk assessments, investigations, and report suspicious activities.
- Conduct transaction monitoring to identify unusual or suspicious activities and ensure timely regulatory reporting.
- Provide staff training on compliance and AML/CTF requirements.
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies and regulatory authorities when required.
- Conduct client due diligence, compliance monitoring, and risk assessments.
- Prepare documentation for business onboarding, ensuring compliance with partner requirements.
- Support audits, regulatory reviews, and prepare the Annual Compliance Report.
- Advise management on compliance risks and maintain updated policies.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in AML/CTF compliance or financial crime prevention.
- Experience with transaction monitoring and client due diligence (CDD/KYC) processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with compliance functions within financial services businesses is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of AML/CTF regulations in Australia is preferred.
- Ability to assess and manage risk in a financial crime compliance context.
